Hello lovely people - It's been a while and I've been busy!
I thought I would share with you what's been happening over the past 3 months in Lockdown, now we are emerging on the other side.

It's been a tough time for everyone, especially small businesses, so I took a temporary shift of focus to do something, which I feel is important for our communities.
I hooked up with The Office for National Statistics to manage a team of wonderful people working as Census Officers, compiling information for the National Census in England & Wales. The Census only happens once every 10 years and provides a valuable snapshot in time of the people living in any given area, which in turn determines the funding for our local authorities to be able to provide vital services such as school places, hospital beds and lots of other essential community requirements including bin collections and road maintenance.
There is a huge misconception that data collected can be shared with other government departments (benefits, immigration etc). Our job was not only to collect data, but reassure members of the public that the ONS is legally bound to retain the confidentiality of house holders. All information gathered is anonymised and presented as a statistic only. It's going to be 100 years before any particular householders data is connected to any individual!
I have felt very privileged to be part of the Census Operation. I hope to see the rewards for our communities in services provided.
So now that the exercise is more or less completed and we are emerging into a more social UK, I will be able to start meeting people again. I look forward to visiting the fabulous Macmillan help centres, spreading the Ranfire Design word and helping women to cope with hair loss through our stylish solutions. I'm also looking forward to getting out of 'lounge wear' and popping on some confidence- boosting accessories (to detract from the surplus poundage acquired - that's another story!).
What are you looking forward to?
